I don’t see any candidate wrapping it up by Super Tuesday. It could potentially go on to a brokered convention. Who would have thought that? Anyway I’m kind of hoping that happens, it would be fun.
I know there are alot of Ron Paul supporters, but he is not going to get the nomination. Thompson is not strong enough either. The order will be Huckabee, Romney, McCain, Giuliani. I really think that a Romney/McCain ticket would work very well for us. Strong economic and military background.
I think that America will then finally be wiling to listen to its one and only hope. All the other candidates have already gotten their airtime, and when Dr. Paul finally gets his for winning Nevada, all freedom-loving Americans will finally be able to see past the lies of the media.
Ron Paul in 08!
Guiliani may win FL but cannot hold the rest of the nation.
Paul doesn’t have the support to become the candidate.
Romney’s win in MI was a fluke.
This race will come down to McCain vs Huckabee. People know McCain and his consistency and at least trust him even if they don’t like his positions on some issues. Huckabee is still a political unknown for the most part and personally, I have concerns. Thompson has a chance if he just puts for some effort. I’m not seeing much from him and it is disappointing.
One other thing to consider. If Clinton locks up the dem candidacy, McCain will pull many middle-of-the-road dems over where Huck and Thompson may not. Again, you may not like where he stands on most issues, but at least he is socially and somewhat fiscally conservative.
I really want Rudy, but I don’t think he will pull it off. I like Thompson, but he isn’t very aggressive. I am screwed. Ron Paul just kind of creeps me out. I think its going to be Romney, as he is likable and not an idiot. My biggest wish is to see Hillary go down in flames.
OK all you Paul supporters, let the negatives fly!
I, for one, will not care anymore than I do now–which is zero, zip, nada.
sign up for therapy- this is getting awful, I am so confused!
Roll over and keep on dreaming cause that would only happen in a dream.
I do think that this would come down to oregon. It will be really hard for a GOP candidate to win the general election if we stay divided that long into the race, though. We will just have to wait and see. I dont think Thompson will win SC, he has lost too much momentum and i think the same thing for Giuliani… they are both dead in the water. I think that it will be a four person race on super tuesday. Romney, Paul, Huckabee, and McCain. I think that we will be down to two after the votes are counted on February 5th!
First, of all I must say I like your thought-provoking question. Your scenario would be very interesting considering that Romney, McCain and Huckabee have also won other states. I guess in your scenario it would come down to the number of delegates each has in the end. Sometimes coming in second can still give you a fair number of delegates. I think that currently Romney has the most number of delegates and I am starting to like him more and more. I also like Ron Paul. I feel bad that the media totally ignores Ron Paul. Ron Paul came in 4th in Michigan – ahead of both Thompson and Guiliani but you never hear about it…..hmmm….guess we will have to wait and see!
If Paul doesn’t get the nomination, I’m seriously considering voting straight Democrat for the next 20 years and watching America get what she deserves.
Unfortunately Thompson isn’t going to win SC. Paul is definitely not winning Nevada, hes hardly in the running there. My prediction is that it is all going to come down to South Carolina, not just who wins, but who’s in second. If McCain holds onto his lead there, the nomination is pretty much his. If Thompson doesn’t get second at least, hes done. Paul, is pretty much an after thought.
If Romney doesn’t come in 2nd hes seriously damaged. Huckabee needs to win SC to have any chance at the nomination. Coming in second won’t be good enough to keep him competitive, He’d probably stay in until super Tuesday, but wouldn’t have much impact.
Ron Paul has no chance…
Ron Paul has won my vote.Everything else is just hype to me.
I have to wait and see. The Primary in my state isn’t until May 6.
What you don’t seem to understand (and you are not alone in this) is that the popular vote is meaningless in many states. In some states the winner of the popular vote gets all the delegates. In other states it is not an all or nothing proposition. Also not every state has the same number of delegates. I may be wrong but last i heard Mitt Romney was significantly ahead in total delegates.
I think Nevada is all or nothing and NC delegates are assigned by county but I am never sure about either of those. I have no idea about FL.
