THE CNN POLLS OF POLLS what a joke! we as a nation should stop wasting our time basing our decision on these so call know it alls and check out the facts for ourselves stop watching fox, especially the biggest loseers CNN tell wolf blitzkriek ,lou dobbs to shut up! i hate that roland whatever guy he is far up obama’s wazoo ,campell brown anderson who is competing with roland for obama’s wazoo, shut them off people ,CNN is more tabloid than the star newspaper themselves, they should open their show with instead of CNN THE MOST TRUSTED NEWS IN THE WORLD WITH CNN THE MOSTED TRUSTED OBAMA NEWS AND POLLING STATION IN THE UNIVERSE!

Cities and States Plan Strange New Taxes on Pretty Much Everything
Behold, America: the taxman cometh.
Even as taxpayers are struggling to make ends meet in a crumbling, tumbling economy, your friendly neighborhood (and state and federal) government is having a hard time making do with the meager trillions you’re throwing its way, so it’s relying on an old maxim:
If it exists, it can be taxed.
New York’s resident grinch, Gov. David Paterson, tried suggesting a kind of omnibus fun-busting budget that would have taxed New Yorkers for skiing, golfing, camping, being fat, being skinny, going to the movies, going to plays, wearing clothing, going to strip clubs and having more than six fingers or toes. The governor, who is up for re-election next year, came to his senses about three weeks ago and renounced the budget, perhaps when an adviser noted that political contributions aren’t tax-deductible.
Things haven’t been all downhill for the taxman, though: some surprising new tariffs, like supersizing the tax on AIG bonuses, have had a measure of popular support, but most are being opposed hand and foot over wallet.
Cigarette taxes are jumping so much on April 1 that it will soon be cheaper to run a tobacco farm than to buy a pack of cigarettes. So as you stockpile your smokes for the coming decade, here’s a look at some of the more egregious new taxes you’ll be seeing soon.
IT’S ELECTRIC
Washington Mayor Adrian Fenty has proposed a slew of new taxes (for taxes are no longer solitary creatures like wolves, but herd together in dangerous slews) to meet his city’s massive deficit. His first target: budget-busting street lights, which Washingtonians will now fund with an extra $51 monthly tax. Bottom line: if you expect to be kept safe from monsters lurking in the District night, it’s really going to cost you.
DO THE MASH
Kentucky is called the state of the “unbridled spirit,” but when a new 6 percent tax hike on booze goes into effect April 1, that slogan might have to change. Lawmakers are going to be taxing their very own Kentucky bourbon, which is, along with Col. Sanders and the Bowie knife, among the greatest contributions of the Bluegrass State. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.
OLD PROFESSION, NEW FEE
Nevada’s hidebound lawmakers are finally going after prostitution in their state. Well, not really … but one Las Vegas Democrat has proposed a $5 surcharge on all, ummm, transactions, which he says will boost the state’s economy by $2 million. While you finish doing the math on how many rendezvous there are annually in Nevada (answer: a lot), it’s worth noting that most bordellos charge a minimum of about $100 to $200 for their services, and don’t object much to the suggested tax. Five bucks is a paltry thing next to the prices some people are willing to pay in the Silver State.
GET IN AND STAY OUT
Nevada has also raised its so-called bed tax, which isn’t nearly as fun as it sounds. Its 3 percent hike was levied in March on travelers spending the night in Nevada hotels, most of whom end up in Las Vegas. Nevada isn’t alone: nearly half of states have a hotel tax meant to punish suckers foolish enough to leave their own homes, but as more sign on there’s danger of an interstate tax war. Once everyone has imposed a stiff nightly rate, who will be safe from harm?
STRIPPED BARE
Texas led the way in 2007 by levying a $5 tax on patrons of gentlemen’s clubs, exotic dance parlors and all other places where women disrobe for money. Now Florida and New York are among states considering their own “pole taxes,” which have already netted the Lone Stars $11.2 million in revenues. The money was supposed to be used to fund sexual assault services (and no, the irony is not lost on anyone). Only hitch: a Texas judge ruled the tax an unconstitutional infringement of free speech. Yes, stripping is free speech. Let freedom ring.
CASH CROP
Billions of dollars in the hole, California’s legislature is considering a blunt proposal from a San Francisco assemblyman: taxing legalized marijuana sales at $50 an ounce, a move its sponsor thinks could net the state about $1 billion a year. Oregon is considering a similar measure, taxing medical marijuana at nearly $100 an ounce. The taxes could really help excite the states’ economies, even if everything else gets sluggish for a while.
RUNNING ON EMPTY
If you live in America and your name starts with a letter, you’re probably going to be seeing higher gas taxes soon. States and municipalities from Massachusetts to Michigan are planning gas hikes to help rev up their stalling fiscal engines. So any of you planning to travel across state lines to stock up on cigarettes before April 1 had better get on the road fast, before new highway taxes, raised tolls, speeding cameras and apocalyptic moths bar your way for good.
PORNOGRAPHY!
A Washington state representative was beaten back in February when he suggested taxing pornographic materials

For example, the Florida voting debacle against Dems in 00 and 04. That girl with black eye who claims some black guy beat her up when it was made up. And today I heard that they’ve been dropping flyers in Virginia about voting booths are too busy so they have to allow Repub to vote on Nov 4th and Dems to vote on Nov 5th? Then you got two Nazis trying to assassinate Obama???!!
It’s always from the Republican side pulling scams and hardly I ever hear anything negative like this from Democrat side. Why is that? Is that why the Republicans are the red states?? Red usually means evil, doesn’t it?

We were sitting at the dinner table, eating fish by candle light. I casually mentioned that I was still upset that Al Gore lost the 2000 election to George Bush because Flordia cheated. My boyfriend, who is a Republican, told me that wasn’t the case, and that the Democrats should get over that. I told him no way, that he should start explaining to me right away why Gore lost! It’s not that I haven’t gotten over it (I have), but come on! My boyfriend was patiently trying to explain to me that it wasn’t just about Florida and the butterfly ballot, but I had stopped listening. I Grabbed his mother’s china that he loves so much, and smashed it on the floor. Then I took my wine glass and hurled it at him. Shocked, he fell over and started bleeding. We had to rush him to the hospital and he now is in critical condition from internal bleeding (How it came from my glass I have no idea!) And he dumped me! Over a silly little Al Gore debate! Why did he do this?

Obama said to Ed Henry of CNN: ‘I think of the consequences before I open my big mouth’.http://www.politico.com/news/stories/040…
From the article:
The governors’ shifts from a national ideological offensive against Obama to a defensive damage control approach at home reveals the degree to which Republicans are still struggling to find a coherent path of opposition to the president, and the extent to which governors’ mansions — often seen as ideal steppingstones to the White House — can derail political careers in tough economic times.
And Democrats have relished the intra-party GOP warfare.
“What we saw was Gov. Sanford playing chicken and he got run over,” said Hari Sevugan, a spokesman for the Democratic National Committee. “And we’ve seen, to varying degrees, others reaping blowback from local communities as well. But that’s a natural result of taking a position based on politics instead of doing what’s right.”
Republican governors faced with the popular federal spending legislation, formally known as the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, staked positions on a political continuum, with national conservative support at one end, and local approval at the other.
Second question:
Were Govs. Charlie Crist of Florida and Arnold Schwarzenegger of California right in campaigning with President Obama, and immediately accepting the Federal Aid?

And now all of the sudden out of the cool icy blue air, out of nowhere… John McCain picks “Sarah” Palin
I don’t think anyone at all in politics seen this coming…
This has been a really weird day for me with hurricane Gustav getting ready to tear into the coast. All my life since I was a little kid I’ve felt like I have a guardian angel that is named Sarah… So it’s all been a bit strange for me. I’m glad he’s picked her though I feel safe with that choice, and like that was John McCain’s best option.
Just look at Sarah’s track record & her personality though… compared to Joe Biden’s. Hahahaha, what do you think about that?
Doesn’t it just make you want to laugh, then laugh some more, and then laugh again at the silly & bad choices the liberal democrats and the DNC has made this election year?
Doesn’t the Dems and Howard Dean not even wanting to count all of Florida & Michigan votes still come to mind?
Do you think by picking Sarah that it is a slap in the face to Barack & Joe?

Lanny Davis claims that Hillary shouldn’t have to live up to the Democrat Party document she signed stating that Florida and Michigan votes wouldn’t count if they moved up their primaries earlier than February 5th. Lanny says that Obama didn’t support revotes in Michigan and Florida.
However, Lanny conveniently ignores the fact that the document Hillary signed says that she recognized that Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina and a valuable and historic role to play in the early nomination process. He ignores that the campaigns would have had to pay for a revote. And he ignores that Michigan (for example) has already proposed that they can split their delegates: 69 for Clinon and 59 for Obama (based on the percentages in the primary).
IS SHE TAKING OBAMA DOWN JUST TO RUN AGAIN IN 2012??

Ray McBerry (Georgia) – racist League of the South, Constitution Party, neo-Confederate Southern Party of Georgia.
Shawn Stuart (Montana) – neo-Nazi National Socialist Movement – the nation’s largest neo-Nazi organization.
John Ubele (Florida) – neo-Nazi Nationalist Coalition (recently formed from National Vanguard, which itself earlier split off from the neo-Nazi National Alliance).
James Hart (Tennessee) – In his “Eugenics Manifesto,” he declares: “Equality is man’s most dangerous myth”
Glenn Miller (Missouri) – National Socialist Party of America, the Carolina Knights of the Ku Klux Klan, the Confederate Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and the White Patriot Party.
Art Jones (Illinois) – former National Socialist White People’s Party “stormtrooper”.
Tony Dolz (Arizona) – said non-white immigration is turning the U.S. into “a slimy brown mass of glop”
Randall Terry (Florida) – founder of the anti-abortion group Operation Rescue. “Our goal is a Christian nation. … We have a biblical duty; we are called by God to conquer this country. We don’t want equal time. We don’t want pluralism. Theocracy means God rules.” Hates jews, blacks, and attorneys.
Austin Farley (Tennessee) – member of the racist Council of Conservative Citizens and co-host with James Edwards of the far-right radio program “The Political Cesspool,”
Jimmy D. Giles (Mississippi) – “Working for Whites” is his slogan, “separating the races”, “the Jewish owned media”.
Let’s not forget the classics -
David Duke (switched to the GOP in 1989), Strom Thurmond, Jesse Helms, and Trent Lott.
Who do the democrats have? – Robert Byrd: KKK member in the 40’s, perhaps as late as the early 50’s.
