Ted Kennedy’s Endorsement Is A Kiss Of Death To Obama For Cuban Latino Votes?

2010 February 7

CNN just says on TV that John Kennedy’s Bay of Pig fiasco upset many cuban latinos, and most voted for republicans since, until lately that they are frustrated with the republican empty promises to them, and begin to vote democrats.
Now, Ted’s endorsement of Obama may remind them of John Kennedy, and may take votes away from him. Yesterday’s poll of Florida by Survey USA shows Hillary surges and beats Obama by 24 pts (52 vs 28), although there is no delegate. That is a psychological boost that Hillary needs now.
Ted’s endorsment of Obama may negatively affect him for cuban latino votes in other states as well?

Yes. But it has nothing to do with the Bay of Pigs. Cuban Latino’s from that era are mostly dead or hardly alive now. It has to do with Kennedy and his close ties to Eddie “El Piolin” of La Raza, and his co-signing Amnesty Bill with McCain.

I could hardly see how it will hurt him. Being endorsed by Ted will only project him into a closer win. With Ted that means it is two people campaigning instead of one. Hillary has Bill. Barack has Got Ted I guess.
    Obamaina is running wild!!!!

Just the opposite because Ted is a Catholic. Latinos are all Catholics. You can’t go into a Latino house in California where they don’t have a picture of the Pope and JFK. Cuban Latinos are a minute percentage of the Latino vote and in Miami they usually go the way celebrities like Gloria Estefan, Mark and JLo and since Estefan is for Obama I expect him to get some Cuban Latino votes. Kennedy will help him with Mexican Latino votes. And the Democrats had all pledged to skip Florida just like they did Michigan. Hillary is obviously not a Democrat of her word.
Edit: And by the way, the Cubans who are in America were for the Bay of Pigs. It’s the Cubans in Cuba that were against it and since those Cubans can’t vote you better rethink your theory.

Bay of Pigs! That was almost 50 years ago. People aren’t still going to be basing their votes off of that.

If you think emotions about the betrayal of John Kennedy to the patriots who wanted to overthrow Castro before he had a chance to fester died with those men, then you don’t understand Hispanic culture. Children will learn of that betrayal for many generations to come, and justifiably so. Not only was it a betrayal by John Kennedy, but by the US in general. And they wonder why the US is so reviled in the Caribbean basin and in South America…….Latino mistrust of Unsteady Teddy is justified, and Obama may well come to regret his eager embrace of this ethical and moral tar baby that is Edward Kennedy.

Bay of Pig’s was to get rid of Castro.
    Those
Cuban’s came here running from Castro.
And many Cuban exiles were armed against Castro!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bay_of_Pigs…
Tell them then to go back to Castro ???

Who cares about right-wing wacko Cuban exiles? Those people are just the descendants of the riff-raff gangsters and exploiters that Castrol kicked out, or ones who chose to leave when the sh-t hit the fan because of their own corruption.
Hey man that’s what happens when you bet on the wrong side.
Hardly the kind of person a decent American would seek support from.

CNN is Pro-Hillary. Ted Kennedy’s endorsement of Obama is a huge advantage for him. Hillary is not happy with the fact that the Kennedy’s backed Obama instead of her. The Cuban vote in Florida doesn’t matter now anyway. Florida has no delegates, so most Dems won’t bother voting.

No. This is not about race.
Latinos are productive, intelligent U.S. citizens, who would, after a little research into the honesty/integrity of the two candidates, vote for Obama.
