What Do You Think Of Florida Rep Tim Mahoney? He Got Elected By Promising A Return To Family Values And Morals?

2009 October 30

Yet he had an affair and paid the mistress off to keep her quiet, got caught, made some grand apology about it, and now it comes out he’s having a second affair. How is that leading by example?
Snippet form the news story
>>Though Democratic U.S. Rep. Tim Mahoney did not directly mention allegations first reported by ABC News that he had been involved with the former aide, he issued a statement apologizing to his family but denying he’d done anything illegal.
Later Tuesday, a person close to his campaign told The Associated Press that Mahoney also was having an affair with a second woman around the same time.
Mahoney, 52, won his seat in 2006 while promising to return morals and family values to Washington in the aftermath of the resignation of former Republican U.S. Rep. Mark Foley.<<

i can’t remember who made the quote, but it is applicable here…
“oh, dear lord, i pray that you make me chaste and moral and good…..
but oh, dear lord…not right now.”

Wow, kinda reminds me of Sarah Palin advocating only abstinence and ending up with a pregnant teenage daughter. People in glass houses….
It usually seems to me that the people that yell the loudest about immorality have the most skeletons to hide in their closet.

Male politicians are old and ugly. They use their power to sleep with desperate women. They are liars and fornicators.
I don’t trust politicians. I don’t know why we let those creeps run our countries. It’s despicable.

It has been my personal experience the ones who are the loudest about having high values and morals are usually loud because they have something to hide.

I am not surprised he is a Democrat. It has always made me furious that they like to make promises that cannot be kept. Like returning the country to being moral and having family values. You cannot legislate things like family values and morals ….. it cannot be done! I guess they could pass a law that all families have to adhere to the same set of morals and values (someone in the government would have to make the decision on what those values are). Then the government would have to somehow monitor all American families and jail those who refuse to fall in line. See how utterly ridiculous that is and to make it even more laughable usually the ones espousing these moral issues turn out to be an offender of those very same morals.
Jason you make a good argument for term limits for senators and congressman not just the president.
