The same thing that explains why blue states have higher IQ rates than red states.

If those people in Southern Republican Red States are so darn happy then why do they migrate out here to the South West and use our states Welfare then. I will tell you why – because they are poor and looking for better opportunities then what they had in a red state . ironically if you ask them who they vote for most will still say Republican ( if they vote at all ) while they are applying for state welfare .Go figure

You mention some of the least of those contributing to our high pressure lifestyle, and resulting innovation, I’m gonna guess, in your popular assumption poll of “happiness”. It may have something to do with a self sustaining culture supported by little change and plenty of familial support in an always has been, awkward economy. The fact that the rest of us must resist their right wing, political urges at times puts even more pressure upon the least happy states. Please remember that this is entirely subjective in virtually any arena of logic.

You need to read the paragraph above to understand. It tells you two factors of data one is people reporting how happy they are the other is multiple things like: How crowded the state is, the air quality and other factors. I suggest you read before you make a stupid and uneducated claim. It makes sense that New York is on the bottom because of how crowded they are. The south is a slower way of life so there is less stress. It just so happens that the more rural areas are more likely to vote Republican and the cities are more likely to vote for Democrats. A very stupid question by you.

I.Q. don’t mean much, if you don ‘t have enough Common Sense to get out of the rain, some of the dumbest people I know, have a PhD and are called Senators, Representatives, one of the best ones I have heard, is they are going to spend their way out of debt.***********************************…

Maybe because here we have 40+% that have some kind of Government health care, and 40+% that are on some kind of State or Fed assistance.
    Utopia huh?
