Why Do Libocrats Loathe $5/gal Gas While Loathing Any And All Oil Exploration And Drilling?

2009 October 30

Do a simple search on oil drilling, and you’ll find oil protesting democrats! ANWR, California, Colorado, Florida, etc…
Can we please give these liberals a pill to combat their mental disorder?
OR, HAVE THE LIBERALS FOUND A TREE THAT GROWS OIL?

I’m a Liberal, though not a Dem., and have never protested drilling for oil. How presumptuous, believing all Liberals think alike.

Liberals LOVE high prices for gas. They believe it’ll force Americans to all move back to the big city and live in high rise apartments under the government’s supervision.
Environmentalist wackos are praising the high prices and want ‘em higher.
That’s why liberals don’t want oil exploration or drilling.

Don’t assume all liberals feel this way…I believe in drilling as a temporary solution, however, NO ONE should assume this is a permanent solution, this question just goes to show how people make assumptions…I am a liberal, A liberal who feels the environment is important, but not as important as working families…I support limited drilling, but we need to push for other alternatives…or in a few years, we’ll be back to square one only worse off than now

Any and all you speak of will make no difference, if any, for at least 20 years, if not more.
Alternative energy sources have to be used, what there are, and others ‘fast-forewarded’ with the money that would be used for a useless venture into drilling for more oil, especailly off the coasts.

Your shorsightedness is alarming. The whole point, and one made over and over by those who know, is that 1. The Republicans have sold us all out to big oil in exchange for campaign money 2. The technology to move us beyond oil exists, but is buried by oil companies 3. DRILLING IN ANWR WILL HAVE NO IMPACT ON GAS PRICES!!!!! How many times do we have to tell you people? No wonder this country is going down the tubes.

Yes…I complain about gas prices…and yes I am also against drilling. You know why? Because its unneccesary. You can live without oil. Now is the time to make changes, take it.
    Edit:Oh okay…nevermind. Ignore my answer.

Why do Conlicans want to lease the entirety of the United States of America to oil companies?

First of all, they don’t so your question is specious.
Second, there is no party of political philosophy called Libocrats, and your use of this term is neither clever, nor consturutive but is sophmoric in a high school sort of way.
Third, almost no one objects to driling or exploration. What I and many people object to is drilling within site of tourist beaches, and in irreplaceable wildlife preserves when the oil companies hold over 60 million acres of oil reserves under lease in the gulf of Mexico, much of it with proven reserves, and have failed to develop them. Had they done so, we wouldn’t be having this conversation at all.
Finally, if you are an expert in oil exploration, please state your qualifications to make these judgments. If not, then you need to shut up, already, and stop repeating Rush, and Sean, neither of whom finished college and one of whom is a multiple drug abuser.

I’m going to explain this again, as I have in so many previous questions on this very issue. The issue is not the fact that we need the oil, it’s that the current locations where we’re drilling are not being used to the correct extent. Right now, the offshore drilling we have going is only being used to the extent of about 10% of its capacity. If we raised that capacity, that would be enough to change things, but since oil companies just love to have high priced gas that people have to buy, it’s a great way to artificially inflate the price.
And these same people would just love us to drill in other locations so that they could do exactly the same thing. The oil rigs will cost so much to build in all these locations that gains off the oil, especially at that rate, would not recoup those losses for a while. The past 3 presidents have seen very well that this is the case, and therefore haven’t started drilling elsewhere, yet Bush seems incapable of seeing this same flaw.
So the choice is simple. Use the resources we have right now but make them better by forcing them to do a better job, or pollute and make new drills taht wouldn’t solve the issue at all but rather just worsen it. Liberals are not against it for reasons that don’t make sense, so stop trying to make it seem like they are.
Wait, your response to me is that I said drilling won’t do anything? That’s not what I said at all. Moreover, that’s not a response to what I was saying, so nice try.
