Why Don’t Liberals Have Enough Guts To Take Responsiblity For The Current High Oil Prices And Lack Of A Plan?
2009 December 20
High gas prices are a gift from the Democrats
Bill Clinton vetoed a bill that would have allowed drilling for oil in Alaska. The
Democrats in Congress, allied with a few liberal Republicans, have blocked drilling in Alaska and off our coasts a number of times since President Bush took office. Sadly, many people are happy to see Bush lose another one, no matter what the eventual cost is to them selves. By the way, Cuba and China are drilling within forty miles of Florida.

that would be admitting bush was right and they were wrong.
Umm, no. Your wrong. We have enough oil in our reserves to last us for the next 60 years. Thats first off.. Second, Bush’s family company (The Carlyle Group) is making a killing right now because they only let 2 partners buy shares in their company. One is the the California Public Employees’ Retirement System and the other is the government of Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is one of the largest producers of oil in the world. If you think for one minute that massive earnings that Abu Dhabi is making off of the American consumers is not benefiting The Carlyle group and its investors.. Your nuts. But hey, good try blaming it on a political party before you did ANY RESEARCH…
Bush has been in office for over seven and a half years. During his first year Cheney met in secret with the leaders of big oil to formulate an energy plan. Cheney has taken it to the Supreme Court to keep who was at the meeting and what was discussed a secret. What was it again about no plan?
Stop trying to blames Democrats for the problems created by failed Republican policies.
6 years of unchecked Republican policies and global increase in demand for oil have been driving up prices.
excuse me but Bush had SIX years of rubber stamp republican congress and got EVERYTHING he asked for and VETOed NOTHING
This is part of the plan and it was well executed I might add. Soon gas will be so expensive we mere surfs will not be able to put it in our cars and get to work thus saving the environment.
Because, my dear, the current high oil prices would not be affected by drilling in Alaska. Check out what a commodity market bubble means.
The republicans had control of the Congress and the White house for six years. They didn’t pass a bill that would have allowed the drilling.
When we stop drilling off the shore and don’t look at new places like ANWAR are we surprised that the price goes up.
Its all about supply and demand.
They couldn’t blame Bush and Cheney for being oil men that are pro-oil.
damn you’re ignorant. Homeschooled?
What a bunch of baloney! Not drilling in ANWR has nothing to do with this!
IT’s ANWR not Anwar!
it’s bush’s fault, he is the boss
you’re just ignorant to the facts period…
FACT: there is not enough oil in Alaska or anywhere else in the US, to justify drilling, because it won’t affect the price at the pump…the US just doesn’t have it..period.
FACT: we drill off the coast all of the time… we have platforms in the gulf. gasoline is still over 4$ her in sw FL !
FACT: the price at the pump has little to do with supply and demand economics…. but rather the greediness of the US refineries and OPEC. example…. i’m a refinery…I refine less oil, which means I ship less gasoline, and this allows me to justify charging more…. win win win for me… EXXON MOBILE SHELL OIL CO. example 2…. i’m an OPEC nation… I cut production, I ship less and charge more, meanwhile disrupting the US economy rallies my markets, and my currency. win win win…. RUSSIA, SAUDI ARABIA, CHINA…etc.
FACT: the worlds oil will not last forever… the first country to completely ween itself off of it will become the new world superpower.
so you would rather destroy Alaska, one of the last ecological sanctuaries in America, in order to continue a path of unsustainable economics ? that just doesn’t make any sense my friend…
